Oil and Natural Gas in North America: Teton Energy Corporation

Teton Energy Corporation focuses on the acquisition, exploration, and development of oil and natural gas in North America.
They have leasehold interests in the Central Kansas Uplift and the Eastern Denver-Julesburg Basin in Colorado, Kansas, and Nebraska. They also have interests in the Piceance Basin in Western Colorado, the Williston Basin in North Dakota, and the Big Horn Basin in Wyoming. Teton Energy has their headquarters in Denver, Colorado.
In the Central Kansas Uplift Teton Energy is an operator with a 66 percent average working interest. This project is 48,101 gross acres (31,569 net) and 82 percent undeveloped. In the Eastern Denver Julesburg Basin Teton Energy has a 25 percent working interest. Anadarko Petroleum and Noble Energy are key players in this area. Their Piceance Basin operation consists of 6,314 gross/789 net acres. Key players in this area are Berry Petroleum, Delta Petroleum, Occidental, Williams, and EnCana, PDC.
The main target in the Company's Williston Basin operations is the Bakken Formation. There is other potential in Red River, Madison, Duperow, Nisku, and Interlake. The Company's operations in Bighorn Basin, Wyoming are in the West Greybull Prospect. It consists of the Mowry Shale Gas and Greybull Oil and Gas. They acquired their Bighorn operations in 2007.
In November 2008, Teton Energy and their partners successfully drilled and cased to its planned depth of 14,430 feet the Viall #30-1 well in their Goliath project in the Williston Basin. This was to test the Red River, Stonewall, and Winnipeg formations. Teton has a 17.17 percent working interest in this well.
Teton Energy Corporation announced recently that they received a permit from the Bureau of Land Management to drill their first well on their Big Horn Basin site. This is in northwest Wyoming and the 13,000-foot well will test the Greybull Sandstone formation. Teton has a fifty-fifty partnership with another enterprise for the Big Horn Basin site.
