The manganese ore prices are expected to recover within two to three years. China dominates the world in terms of production of Electrolytic manganese with ninety eight percent of the production. North America rely on other countries for the supply of electrolytic manganese metal.
Most of the manganese in China is imported than mining in the country. The manganese ore in China is of low grades around 18% or even 6%. The low grade manganese requires more energy to process which makes it difficult to match international prices of the finish products.
China is facing many environmental problems. China’s economy is based on exporting low priced to worldwide countries by hiring workers with low wages and keeping environment on stake. Now the new base is being prepared which will follow the domestic consumption of the production.
The demand of manganese is high in North America and the supply is very less in comparison to the demand.
